 Who is this guy?:
I am the General Manager and Owner of American Beauty Equipment, formerly Midwest Salon and Skin Care Equipment.
I have been in the beauty business for my entire life practically,
I am a legacy of a large beauty product dealer from the Chicago land area.

Some people say, I know everything about beauty equipment. I learned quite by accident after doing this for so many years and being a teacher by nature, I have studied all cabinetry and chairs as well as skin care equipment and even cold lasers from nearly every country. I had some great teachers too

I can help you design your salon, spa or any beauty type business and provide specs as well as layouts for plumbers or architects. I can also help choose colors, motif and other things to help make your business special and successful. I can also recommend and help with marketing ideas. All for free.

A secret you may not know- Build a nice salon, be nice and helpful, people will always come back, build a cheap ugly salon, people will only come once, unless you are REALLY special.
Your grandparents were able to keep their customers in their salons for 40 years you can too, if you do it right. I have seen dozens if not hundreds of salons open then close due to poor marketing, poor management or rude owners. BE NICE IS THE GOLDEN RULE!

Before the Chinese items were anywhere in the USA chairs used to cost upwards of $400.00 to $600.00+ for a reason and the people who get good equipment seem to still be in business, go figure. They made enough money to put their kids through college and even prosper.
My golden rule is have a nice salon, do a good job and be nice and the customers will always come back. Buy garbage and they know it.

What's The Deal With This Web Site:
The website is called American Beauty Equipment, same as our name. Abraham Lincoln is our logo, we are based in Illinois, 10 minutes from O'Hare airport. A.B.E is our Acronym get it? We offer great value and everything is worth every penny you pay.
The website is a dictionary of manufacturers equipment, because our website gives you all the descriptions and color choices available and then some. It is simple to navigate if you can read.

We carry all the major brands and some excellent smaller companies making a name for themselves.
This website is designed and updated by me nearly everyday. The items over the years have changed and so has the name and the way we do business. All of our equipment is good quality and even the items made in China are very nice indeed. I personally design and oversee the equipment in our ITALICA line and make sure it is tough enough for Americans. Every year we go back and make sure that our equipment is still holding up after the warranty periods.

This is to ensure we never have to fix your equipment. Take it from me, you don't want anyone to have to fix your equipment, ever if possible, right + I don't want have to fix it either, truthfully. We service and help many schools because we care and can help.
When you don't have working equipment, you are losing money.

What is ITALICA?:
ITALICA is a city in Spain that was a Roman city during the Roman Empire, modern day Seville. Some of the best preserved and most beautiful works of Roman history are still buried and have yet to be unearthed. I was inspired by this timeless city spawning 3 emperors and one of the biggest still functional coliseums in all of Spain.

Many of our items are UNIQUE , because we design or make them from scratch. We try to never copy a design. If you notice many of our items are NEW or have been redesigned. We make them stronger and stronger every time and improve the designs based upon your feedback. Thank you for making this line a brand name people trust now. I have heard your horror stories about equipment sold by the dealers that are from certain states or that disappear or tell you tough luck.
Doesn't that just suck.
How much did you spend to sue them and then not get anything, because they changed their name and moved. How much time and effort have you lost in business due to being penny wise and dollar foolish.
It is the beauty professionals who foster these cheap guys and buy these things, then complain when they have to buy better items now costing twice as much because they have broken.

Also, maybe they advertise cheap prices and don't show the freight? Why? Because they cannot make money and there is a finite point to which all these dealers eventually come to.
They cannot provide you with service or quality and make no money on the items. Then they fold and you are stuck. Some of these rip off artists just simply change their names and move around the corner in their city.

Would You Advertise That You Give Away Free Haircuts or CHEAP Services, Why Would You Expect To Get Free Or CHEAP Equipment From Anywhere & Expect It To Be Good????????
Now We All Do Charity Work Now & Then But That Is Different.

Beware of EBAY beauty equipment, I don't need to say anything more about this. Just beware. Many of these people are just dumping items on you to empty their overburdened wallets and warehouses. We sell better items on clearance than many of these guys do new.

We provide many parts in our warehouse for you to fix your cheap items.

Why buy from us?
Simple all of our equipment comes with guarantees and warranties, we can service anything pretty much if we make it.  We also service all of our manufacturers items and sell to many places worldwide and our record speaks for itself. Many people know us from their friends and word of mouth.

We discontinued MANY of the items you are now buying from cheaper sites, due to bad record and just poor quality.
Many of these items have gone through our clearance section, this area we sell new and used items and some poor quality items, however, we sell them for cost or even below to get rid of them fast. We at least tell you when something is not good. That is the ONLY place on our website that we offer no returns or warranties and they will still stand up longer than most cheap new items on new sites.

A BIT OF ADVICE & SOME THINGS
I HAVE HEARD FROM YOU AS OF 9-02-08

1. Ever buy chairs that are only $169.00 or cheaper? That is because the plastic fabrics they are using are POISONOUS and highly flammable according to the FDA and the chair foam in many cases is either used or is just plain bad.
The fabric will eventually crack.
Those people also seem to disappear once you have a warranty issue, which brings me to the second Trick.

2. Many of the CHEAP CHEAP dealers, mainly in the southern USA for some reason, are not giving any warranty with their chairs!
Why would you buy anything without a warranty, especially from someone who treats you rude or sells you junk. Their terms and conditions basically say in a roundabout fashion once you buy it is yours regardless of the quality or if it is bad.

3. In China and some other places they are making chairs with newspaper in the cushions that is pressed to make boards. The chairs are weak and crack off eventually and your customer falls on the floor. You get sued.

4. The quality of the cabinetry many of you are buying is utter and complete crap. Please excuse my language but dog doo is the only good word for it. The cabinets are not standard, they are not cut right and the factories use melamine paper laminate for the entire piece and not just drawers. The laminates stink literally and you call me complaining about the cheap cabinets.

5. RUDE Pedicure Spa companies that are run by people who hardly speak any English and then are totally rude because they expect you to wire money into "Their" accounts and use "Their" finance companies instead of yours then hang up the phone on you when you choose to go with another finance company or don't want to wire money. Crazy, Crazy, Crazy.

6. Last and finally, there is a company who seems to be on the tops of the search engines for anything beauty equipment. Many of you call me all the time about this company and I will not name them. Just one thing, beware of charlatans' and rip off artists who pressure you or are just plain shifty. I have so many complaints about 1 company in particular it is a wonder they are still in business.
